From the reclaimed timber used to build their lodges, to their eco-friendly pool heating sources and an expansive reforesting and rewilding effort aimed at benefiting the local wildlife that gives the area its distinct beauty. As part of their aim to put the environment at the forefront of the business they chose to turn the focus back onto their visitors, by giving them the opportunity to think of sustainability before they even arrive. SCOPE Bainland were looking for a charging solution that not only provided visitors with all of the functionality customers have come to expect from our EV hardware, but also something that fit into the luxury feel of their 45-acre holiday retreat. Most importantly, they wanted to create a seamless and eco-conscious experience by providing access to reliable EV charging facilities. SOLUTION In order to meet the needs of the Bainland team, Rolec supplied them with two dual socketed 7.4kW Quantum units, providing them with 4 EV chargepoints. Each equipped with Monta’s most sophisticated software, we were seamlessly able to meet their need for a reliable and optimised charging network. The decision to opt for 7.4kW fast chargers was made to fit the specific needs of their visitors, who would likely be staying at the site for multiple days and would require overnight charging for their electric vehicles. Behaving, therefore, similarly to how a home charger would. To meet their need for a luxury feel, each of the units were customised to reflect their brand colours and logo and create a more cohesive aesthetic that blended in with the look and feel of the site. CASE STUDY Rolec Provides Smart Card Metering for Gatton Waters’ Ambitious Site Refurbishment GATTON WATERS Run by the Donaldson family for over three decades, Gatton Waters’ 24-acre site is nestled in the heart of the West Norfolk countryside, just a short drive from Norfolk’s famous coastline. Each of the park’s over 100 caravan pitches boast views of the beautiful 8-acre coarse fishing lake (great news for fans of Carp, Roach, and Bream) and the surrounding wildlife. SCOPE Over the winter, the team at Gatton Waters took on the massive undertaking of completely refurbishing the site ready for their reopening in time for the busy season in Spring. The project was carried out by our dedicated team of engineers, who installed a total network of 118 smart meter hookups and smart cards. SOLUTION Rolec provided 118 bespoke smart meter hook-ups and smart cards (29 units) and supporting software to Gatton Waters. Within two weeks, our team had removed the site’s old 10amp hook-ups and replaced them with our bespoke manufactured 16amp 4-point smart meter hook-ups. Also upgrading all of the earthing points at the meters. BENEFIT Gatton Waters benefits from the permanent roll-out of 118 smart meter hook-ups for their caravan site. Park operators have better control over electricity pricing and overall park management, while generating additional revenue and providing improved amenities for all their visitors. Mark Donaldson from Gatton Waters commented, ‘We chose Rolec to install 118 smart meter hook-ups to our caravan site in Norfolk. The guys who carried out the work were on site by 7:30am each morning and worked right through the day. Hard working, polite and professional. The work carried out was very good and all units look great and were installed to a high standard. On completion they supplied all certification and ran through the process of how to use the card reader and software on our computer.
