1620KW of charging Infrastructure Provided for First York. NEWS EV Charging 1620KW of charging Infrastructure Provided for First York. 12 December 2023 at 11:07:53 After announcing their electrification plans earlier this year, First York joined hands with leading EV charging solutions manufacturer, Rolec EV to ensure that the charging needs of their new electric buses were fulfilled. First York are not only the biggest bus operator in York, they are also operators of one of the largest fleets of double deck electric buses (outside of London), thus steering towards the right direction in reducing carbon emissions whilst improving air quality. In order to power the new additions to the fleet, Rolec EV’s 10 years of excellence in electric vehicle charging became the first point of call to accommodate their current and future electric buses. Rolec EV have collectively provided 1,620KW of power via 70+ charging points, including a combination of 22KW AC Type 2 charging sockets and an 80KW dual outlet DC Ultra-Fast Rapid Charger. Having this infrastructure in place allows up to 72 electric bus drivers to park and charge their vehicles overnight in unison before carrying out their journeys the following day. First York has also benefited from Rolec EV’s bespoke back-office communications service, which supplies the bus operators with smart charging capabilities of managing charging activity, history, vehicle migration and more. This particular fixture, FleetSmart, delivers analytical reports to First York headquarters, enabling bus operators to evaluate charging behaviour across their electric fleet. The government’s Net Zero initiative, reaching zero carbon emissions by 2050 is now well underway with various industries opting to future-proof their fleets. The partnership between Rolec EV and First York has come at a time where the electric vehicle industry is experiencing exceptional growth, especially for establishments who are keen to enhance their environmental efforts. Whilst this becomes a commonality amongst the vast majority, Rolec EV continues to be the focal point of discussion when it comes to providing EV charging solutions for a range of organisations. Frankie Mellon, EV Sales Manager at Rolec EV said: “We at Rolec EV are delighted to have formed a partnership with York’s largest bus operator, First York. Our bespoke EV charging solutions have always generated great feedback and this project is another addition to our portfolio, accompanying DPD, UPS, Battersea Power Station, Anglian Water and more. The installation of the AutoCharge and UFC units supply a robust and future-proof solution, allowing First York to add more electric buses to their current fleet of twenty-one in the future with their electrification plans. We are now in a society where the general public are determined to reduce their environmental impact, the transition to an electric fleet is a great move from First York to encourage passengers to better their carbon footprint and we at Rolec EV are proud to be part of that journey. We are also looking forward to the next stage of developments with First York where our back-office communications will enable bus operators to understand further insights regarding their fleet, for example the scheduled routes of the buses and whether they can complete the journey based on their current battery state, enabling the back-office system to redirect power to a vehicle that requires charging. This fully integrated solution will provide bus operators of First York with ease of mind when it comes to monitoring the whereabouts and charging requirements of their fleet.” For more information on EV Charging , click the link or visit: www.rolecserv.com/ev-charging PREVIOUS NEXT Related Posts MG on the Road to Net-Zero in Enhanced Partnership with Rolec EV. • What grants are available to Landlords looking to install EV chargers at their properties?

What grants are available to Landlords looking to install EV chargers at their properties? BLOG EV Charging What grants are available to Landlords looking to install EV chargers at their properties? Chloe Sharp 3 May 2023 at 13:36:11 So, you want to install EV chargers at your rental properties but want to know what funding is available to you. If you’re a landlord you get access to not one, but two grants. Lucky you! OZEV introduced both the EV chargepoint and EV infrastructure grants, both of which can be used on the same property, for the sole purpose of encouraging you to install electric vehicle chargers. As you can probably guess, you can only use these grants if you are applying for a property you aren’t living in, which includes properties that you live in for part of the year and rent out for holidays, and it must be in the UK. And it’s not just flats that can benefit from cost saving, you can also apply if you are renting a house or commercial property. Extra consideration does need to be taken for commercial buildings to make sure that the chargepoint isn’t available to the public but thankfully, this can be successfully managed by most back-office software. Parking needs to be off-street, private, clearly defined, accessible and owned by you. You can’t be flinging wires and parts around willy-nilly, if you need access to public or private land you need to prove you have permission before any work can be started. EV Chargepoint Grant As the name suggests, the EV Chargepoint Grant relates to funding for the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints. Get up to £350 per socket or 75% off the cost to buy and install. Those of you that own multiple properties can get funding for up to 200 grants each financial year for residential properties and 100 for commercial. Don’t spend it all in one place though, unless you want to I guess, since you can spread these grants over multiple installations instead of just one. EV Infrastructure Grant The EV Infrastructure Grant handles funding for the supporting hardware and, you guessed it, infrastructure for electric vehicle chargepoints to be installed. Think wiring and posts. Depending on the scope of the work you plan on carrying out, there is up to £30,000 available through this grant. Or 75% of the total costs, whichever is less. Like the EV Chargepoint Grant, there are a number of grants available each financial year (30). However, unlike the EV Chargepoint Grant, each of these grants must be used for different properties and each of those properties must contain multiple dwellings. Since this grant focuses on the wider picture, the requirements also focus on the size of the project. Work must be carried out on at least 5 parking spaces, for example, and the grant is specifically for properties with multiple houses/residences. • 200,000 EV Chargepoints Installed Worldwide

200,000 EV Chargepoints Installed Worldwide NEWS EV Charging 200,000 EV Chargepoints Installed Worldwide 12 December 2023 at 11:07:46 With EV adoption and the need for charging infrastructure increasing, Rolec EV are proud to announce its 200,000 chargepoint installation milestone. As industry leaders in providing both AC Fast and DC Rapid chargers across the UK and worldwide, reaching the 200,000 chargepoint installation mark comes at a time when charging infrastructure is pivotal to the adoption of electric vehicles. Numerous industries are benefiting from Rolec’s diverse range of products, whether that be for workplace, commercial, development or home electric vehicle charging purposes. Most businesses in the UK are now reconsidering their carbon footprint and as a result, are choosing Rolec EV as their chargepoint manufacturer for their workplace and/or fleet charging requirements. Similarly, new developments, whether that be homebuilds, warehouses, offices etc are opting to situate chargepoints at their premises to ensure a future-proof solution is in place for the rise in electric vehicles. Frankie Mellon , Head of EV Charging said: “What a superb milestone to reach! Not only are our chargepoints gaining and maintaining momentum in the UK, but across the globe too. Despite the challenges the global economy is facing due to the current pandemic, it is encouraging to know that the industry is evolving, with businesses and individuals making the switch to an electric vehicle. The deployment of worldwide charging infrastructure still has a long way to go and of course, we are proud to be a part of that journey.” For more on our EV charging solutions visit: www.rolecserv.com/ev-charging or contact our team PREVIOUS NEXT Related Posts Introducing the new EV OpenCharge range MG on the Road to Net-Zero in Enhanced Partnership with Rolec EV. • 30 Years with Rolec Marina.

30 Years with Rolec Marina. BLOG Marina Services 30 Years with Rolec Marina. 12 December 2023 at 11:07:58 In three decades, UK-based Rolec Services has reached monumental milestones. The company’s prolific projects are a testament to the world-leading position it enjoys, and have motivated the Rolec team to constantly hone its experience in the marina sector. Since 1990, Rolec Services has positioned itself as an innovator of exemplary products for both marina operators and marina users. Starting out with just the Classic marina pedestal, Rolec has continued to expand and improve its offering to the marina industry and now has various popular pedestals and berth management systems on the market. Classic Beginnings The Classic, with its simplistic and long-lasting design, has never fallen out of favour. It can be seen in hundreds of marinas around the world and withstands the test of time, with the bulk of the original installations still reliable and still in place. Launching the Classic pedestal gave Rolec access to multiple marina destinations and four years after its launch, it won the company its first £1 million marina project - for Elizabeth Harbour on the island of Jersey. Securing this 1994 project was a huge determining factor for Rolec as the directors could see vast potential in offering the industry greater choice of products and services, and a future prospect as a world leader in the industry. With innovation at the core of its business philosophy and the new opportunities afforded by the internet, Rolec introduced a world first electricity/water computer controlled management system called BerthMaster. BerthMaster was designed to provide marina operators with a simple and straightforward marina management system, enabling them to easily and cost-effectively manage the control and billing of marina electrical and water services. Its introduction was a revolutionary move for Rolec. The ability of the software to allow the marina office to remotely control and monitor every individual electric socket and water tap on the marina enabled marina operators to save both time and labour. Rolec has always believed in providing solutions for its customers that make their day-to-day lives simpler, and BerthMaster achieves exactly that. Developing the new system facilitated greater opportunities for Rolec’s marina team, positioning them at the forefront of pioneering work. A Decade Passes Following ten years of great success, in 2000 Rolec added to its huge product range by unveiling LED lighting for both marina and caravan industries. Many pontoons, access bridges and quaysides have benefited from stunning, low-cost, energy-efficient illumination as a result. The products have become a ‘go-to’ for new infrastructure and refurbishment projects, enhancing the ambience at many marinas and waterfronts. But, for Rolec, the millennium was just the start of something greater. Within six years, it diversified to use its specialist knowledge for industrial power supplies and had formed a third division named Power Solutions. A year later it patented and launched WallPod. Originally released as the ultimate interchangeable utility pod system, it now enjoys a strong foothold in the electric vehicle industry. The launch of the WallPod in 2007 also coincided with Rolec’s first major Middle East contract - for The Pearl Qatar, a 1,200 berth marina project. The £2.5 million order added another impressive reference to Rolec’s substantial portfolio but was swiftly followed in 2008 by a £2 million order for marina services for the iconic Palm Marinas in Dubai. In under two years, Rolec had made serious market inroads into a new and exciting business region. Business was clearly solid, but Rolec continued to look to the future and push boundaries, announcing EV charging in 2008 as its fourth division. At a time when many were dubious about the future of electric vehicles, this was an adventurous and courageous move that has since paid serious dividends. 2010 Onwards After two decades of extraordinary growth, Rolec relocated its headquarters and manufacturing facility to new purpose-built premises, widening its capacity to deliver even greater service to its customers. A multi-million pound Rolec Training Academy was built on-site to showcase the breadth of products the company designs and manufactures. The state-of-the-art Training Academy welcomes hundreds of electrical contractors every month into the business, educating keen professionals on the wide range of products that Rolec offers. The Academy has piqued interest from all around the world, with visitors coming from far and wide to discover more about Rolec’s product range. In 2015, Rolec introduced two further products to the marina market: the Quantum Service Pedestal, which now boats over 18,000 installations; and BerthMaster.Online, an extension of the original BerthMaster electricity and water management system. BertMaster.Online benefits both marina operators and berth holders. Berth holders have the ability to manage their electricity and water services via their phone, tablet, laptop or any other web enabled device. The elimination of individual customer invoicing, combined with the marina receiving payments directly to its merchant account in monthly arrears, now ensures marina operators can control electricity and water use with ease and precision. Both the Quantum Service Pedestal and BerthMaster.Online have proven to be popular for UK and international marina projects, with many operators selecting both products as a perfect solution for their marina destinations. But, although the Quantum has generated interest on a grand scale, the Classic Service Pedestal still remains a true classic. In 2016, the Classic achieved its 125,000 marks for manufacture and installation. Rolec witnessed remarkable growth in the lead up to its 30th anniversary. In 2018, a new manufacturing facility was developed to meet the growing demand of electric vehicle charging products. In 2019, over 150,000 EV charging points were installed around the world. Such successes are a testament to Rolec’s dedication and commitment to serving its four divisions with outdoor electrical equipment that has been designed to satisfy all users. The broad range of products also tells its own story. “Rolec is heading towards 4,000 marina references across 68 countries, with Europe, the UK and the Middle East being our highest concentration areas. It brings the team and I great pleasure to have reached our 30 year anniversary this year.” - Holly Brown, Operations Director “We are firm believers in providing a unique service to our clients and also want to ensure that marina users also benefit from our specialist skills. As a result, we are committed to the continuous development of our products and systems. In seeing the success of the Quantum Service Pedestal and BerthMaster.Online, it is stimulating to know that our products and services are still positioning us as world leaders in what we do best.” - Kieron Alsop, Managing Director With thanks to Marina World for including our 30 year anniversary feature within their March/April 2020 edition. We installed the first UltraCharge 160 at our HQ some 6 months ago now and since that point we have worked extremely closely with Sinexcel to further develop the product to meet the requirements of the UK market, integrating with cars, lorries, buses, and to identify features we wished to include as standard for our clients, such as a contactless payment terminal and long reach cables. With a 160kW unit retailing at £25,000 we know this product is going to be very well received by the industry!” Charles Meng, Sinexcel’s Country Director commented: “We see the partnership with Rolec as a mutual achievement of our vision for each other. It's not just a normal partnership, it's more like entering a formal relationship, like a marriage. After getting to know each other better, we share the same goals together. Sinexcel saw Rolec's passion for "zero emissions". The team is professional, precise, efficient and always surprises us, Rolec's record in EV is amazing, with a deep knowledge of the EV Charging business and always brings us new inspiration. • Everything You Need to Know About The Most Affordable EV Charging Solution in the UK

Everything You Need to Know About The Most Affordable EV Charging Solution in the UK BLOG EV Charging Everything You Need to Know About The Most Affordable EV Charging Solution in the UK Chloe Sharp 15 March 2023 at 08:49:11 Residential EV infrastructure has been a huge conversation point the last few years. And the Government’s Part S regulations have only worked to further cement this concept. Making it compulsory for all new build properties (with off-street parking) to provide an EV charge point for future residents. As well as introducing a set of minimum standards for all new charge points. The aim, of course, being to make EVs more accessible and create infrastructure to support the switch to fully electric by 2030. Since the launch of our QUBEV domestic EV charging unit in 2019, the technology behind electric vehicle chargers has only continued to advance. With new developments being introduced left, right and centre. In this spirit of innovation, we’ve been working behind the scenes to create our new, upgraded, home-charging solution: The QUBEV Smart. Now with even more power, better functionality, and solar compatibility (app dependent), with the same focus on affordability and compact design. The UK Government’s introduction of Part S regulations for EV charging infrastructure means a sleek, modern, and fully compliant charging solution was sorely needed within the industry. The QUBEV Smart includes all of the features our customers loved from the QUBEV, including a universal charging socket, built-in LED charging indicator and adjustable charging rating. As well as a host of new additions. Need charge in a pinch? The QUBEV Smart’s power output has now been expanded to include both a 7.4kW and a huge 22kW offering (available as both tethered and untethered models). Giving you access to even more power at your fingertips. Unique to the QUBEV Smart is it's free Smart Wi-Fi app. Opening up a range of opportunities for you to engage with your EV charger. Such as, scheduling charges to power up your vehicle during off-peak hours (utilising the most cost-effective tariffs), viewing your charging status and monitoring your unit's electricity usage. As well as a whole host of other charge-management features. All in one easy-to-use, responsive app. The QUBEV Smart is also compatible with all PEVs and EVs on the market currently, so charging can be as simple as plug and go. We wanted the QUBEV Smart to be as accessible as possible, as such, it is also fully OCPP 1.6 compliant via ethernet connection. So it can be used with which ever compatible back-office software best suits your needs (such as Rolec’s VendElectric and other trusted third-party partners like Monta). And we haven’t just thought about software, QUBEV Smart’s dynamic load balancing feature enables the unit with the technology to balance electrical usage and protect your property’s fuse, without disrupting your electrical supply. This unit has been created and installed in compliance with regulations highlighted in BS EN IEC 61851-1 as well as the latest UK Smart Charge Points Regulations, including security logs and alerts. Encased in an IP65 weatherproof rated, durable ABS and Polycarbonate enclosure, withstanding temperatures of as low as -25 degrees Celsius and up to a maximum of 50 degrees Celsius. Making it the optimal choice for housing developers looking to fulfil government requirements for an electric vehicle charge point that will be both durable and affordable. As well as being easy to install and maintain thanks to our incredible team of partnered installers and knowledgeable technical team.
